Hence, the most stringent goods receipt and sampling inspections are carried out in the refinement process as well as extensive quality controls during the delivery.

All of the strict audit criteria have been fulfilled with this IFS certification at a “higher level”, providing optimum delivery reliability for our national and international customers in industry and commerce.

Since the start of September 2012 the company has also been audited with regard to the high British quality criteria of the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety and achieved Grade A.

Successful IFS follow-up audit in 2023

Following its initial certification in August 2007, the food safety management system of Peter Gelhard Natural Sausage Casings was certified to International Featured Standards, IFS Food (Version 7) after a successful follow-up audit in October 2023.

With the all-encompassing IFS audit Version 7, the company documents the highest conformity in particular with regard to food safety across all divisions. The certification means that all stringent audit criteria have been fulfilled.

The certification includes all departments, organisational structure, raw product procurement, production, warehousing and logistics as well as the essential elements of systematic product traceability for precise identification of origin, processing and distribution.

Successful BRC follow-up audit 2023

Following its initial certification in September 2012, the food safety management system of Peter Gelhard Natural Sausage Casings was certified to the high British quality criteria of the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety and successfully certified in the category 3 in October 2023.

The BRC Global Standard for Food Safety requires the implementation of the HACCP system, a documented QM system and the comprehensive inspection of the hygiene conditions with regard to the products and processes as well as the employees.

The BRC certification also encompasses thereby all company divisions. From the raw material procurement, the production, warehouse and logistics to the systems of the systematic traceability of all products, which always assure the precise identification of origin, refinement and distribution.
